LEMONT, IL — A new after school program will soon be available for sixth, seventh and eighth grade girls at Old Quarry Middle School. Girls on the Run is a nonprofit organization which uses physical activity to teach life skills and promote health outcomes.
Alyssa Hansen, a seventh grade teacher at Old Quarry, is involved in starting the program at the school and said it will help girls realize their potential and develop life skills.
Hansen said since this is the first year, they are limiting the program to sixth through eighth grade girls, but hope to eventually open the program to all girls from third to eighth grade.
