Gusts Up To 35 MPH, Frigid Temps: Illinois Weather

Saturday night will be the coldest of the weekend, and temps will get down to 26 degrees.

You can expect a windy, cold weekend ahead for Illinois. Winds could gust up to 35 mph on Saturday, and rain is also possible. According to the National Weather Service, the rain could begin Friday evening and stick around on Saturday morning.

Temps will be in the upper 40s and low 50s on Saturday the NWS said. It will be windy on Saturday, and in the afternoon, winds could gust up to 35 mph. Be prepared for the cold on Saturday night, where it could get down to 26 degrees and have winds of 25 mph.

Sunday will remain cold, and the high is only forecast for 49 degrees. According to the NWS, temps will warm up a bit for the start of the work week, and Monday has a high of 60 degrees.

  • FRIDAY NIGHT:A 20 percent chance of showers before 8 p.m. Cloudy during the early evening, then gradual clearing, with a low around 41. West northwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
  • SATURDAY: A 30 percent chance of showers, mainly between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. Increasing clouds, with a high near 49. Breezy, with a west wind 10 to 15 mph increasing to 20 to 25 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 35 mph.
  • SATURDAY NIGHT: Mostly clear, with a low around 28. North northwest wind 10 to 15 mph decreasing to 5 to 10 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph.
  • SUNDAY: Sunny, with a high near 48. West southwest wind 5 to 10 mph.
  • SUNDAY NIGHT: Mostly clear, with a low around 36.
