55 MPH Gusts: Wind Advisory For Illinois
The wind advisory is in effect until 9 p.m. Tuesday for most of the area.

High winds are in the forecast Tuesday, and a wind advisory has been issued for most of the Chicago area including the counties of DuPage, Kane, Cook, La Salle, Kendall, Grundy, Will, McHenry, Lake, Kankakee, Boone, Iroquois, Livingston, Ogle, Lee, DeKalb, Ford and Winnebago. According to the National Weather Service, the advisory is in effect from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
Winds should begin Tuesday afternoon through early evening, with the strongest winds from 2 to 9 p.m. The NWS said there will be westerly gusts up to 45 mph and localized gusts up to 55 mph. Some isolated snow showers are also possible.
The winds could make travel difficult for high-profile vehicles, loose objects could be blown around and there could be minor tree damage, the NWS said.

With the winds on Tuesday also comes a large temperature drop. The high for Wednesday is only 26 degrees, and wind chill could bring it down into the single digits.
