Happy Hands Methodist Preschool in Lemont recently welcomed Karin Peraino as the new director of the preschool. Peraino’s appointment comes after the sudden passing of the preschool’s previous director, Julie Phillips. Phillips led the preschool for two years in which her accomplishments were plenty, including expanding the preschool programs and increasing enrollment. As director, Peraino will oversee the daily activities at the preschool, work with the staff and teachers and be the first point of contact for the parents.
“Karin is a very dedicated and involved member of Lemont United Methodist Church and comes to us with many years of diverse experience,” said Paula Janssen, Happy Hands Board President. “Karin’s extensive management background coupled with her involvement in several local community groups and organizations made her the perfect candidate for this position.”
Peraino’s background includes 15 years of management in the corporate sector. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Psychology. Peraino has been a lifetime member of the Lemont United Methodist Church and has directed the church’s Sunday School for over 10 years, where she built the curriculum and developed new programs. Her involvement in the Lemont community has been widespread, including Girl Scouts, AYSO soccer and PTA.
Happy Hands will continue to uphold the high standards that the school has developed over the past 45 years. Much of the school’s emerging curriculum will remain the same, including live music, motor, computer literacy and enrichment.
