100-Degree Heat Index, Hot Weekend Ahead For IL

Temperatures will in the 90s this weekend, before they return to the 80s next week.

ILLINOIS — After several days in the 80s, temperatures will be warmer this weekend. According to the National Weather Service, heat index values will be near or above 100 degrees on Sunday.

Temperatures will start to warm on Saturday, where highs will be near 90 degrees. Sunday will highs in the 90s, and then a chance of thunderstorms late Sunday into Monday.

After the hot temperatures Sunday, temperatures will be back to the 80s during the week.
