Helping Hands Needed for St. Al's/St. Patrick's Playground Renovation
Volunteers will begin work on the project April 18–19.

Volunteers are needed to assist with the building of a new playground at St. Al’s/St. Patrick’s school.
Work will take place at the school, 20W145 Davey Road on Saturday, April 18 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, April 19 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tasks include unwrapping and moving materials; placing posts, decks and clamps; replacing chains on the swing set; pouring mulch and cement.
The new playground is a project led by Bob and Mona Parry, in honor of their son-in-law Brent Ludwig, who died in a hiking accident in August 2014. Ludwig was married to their daughter Dana. The project is meant to “honor his fun spirit and his love of the outdoors and architectural projects.”

Ludwig was also a St. Alphonsus parishioner. Both families have a history of involvement with the school and parish.
“We miss Brent every day and feel compelled to take action to commemorate this giving, genuine and compassionate young man,” the couple wrote in a fundraising letter.
