Heritage Fest Keeps Lemont Traditions Alive
Heritage Fest will be held from 3 to 11 p.m. on Sept. 2 in downtown Lemont.

LEMONT, IL — Lemont's 27th annual Heritage Fest will be the perfect place for a fun-filled day for the whole family. The event will be held from 3 to 11 p.m. on Sept. 2 in historic downtown Lemont. According to a release from the village, the day begins with the 67th Annual Keepataw Parade at 2 p.m. along Main and Illinois streets, followed by Heritage Fest at 3 p.m. lining Stephen, Canal and Front streets.
George Schafer, Village Administrator, said in a release the first Heritage Fest was held in 1991 as a one-day street fair to celebrate the history and heritage of Lemont with music, food and family fun. Now in its 27th year, Heritage Fest continues to provide an enjoyable celebration and the village is planning a great event for Sept. 2.
“The activities line the streets of our historic downtown and there is something here for everyone,” Schafer said in a release.

Mayor John Egofske said in a release what sets Lemont apart from other towns is the resident's sense of community and safekeeping our heritage.
“Lemont residents take much pride in our village. Keeping our traditions and history alive is evident throughout Heritage Fest,” he said in a release.

Jim & Jay of the ScribbleMonsters will kick off the day with kids’ entertainment at 3 p.m. According to the release, musical entertainment continues with the ever popular Johnny Russler & The Beach Bum Band at 4 p.m., followed by the classic, Petty Cash playing favorites at 6:30 p.m. Stephen Neal will close the night out with the most popular country hits from 9 to 11 p.m.

- 4 p.m., Budnik Clock’s 20th Anniversary Celebration
- 3 to 7 p.m., Kids Entertainment and Activities
There will also be face painting, Black Ops Obstacle Course, Extreme Air Tidal Wave, zip line, smash the car, Miracle Express Train, pony rides and more.
