Historical Society Holds Fourth Of July Quarry Walk
The Lemont Area Historical Society will hold the walk on Thursday, July 4 from 8 to 9:30 a.m.
LEMONT, IL — Enjoy the Fourth of July with a hike through downtown Lemont and the quarries. The Lemont Area Historical Society will hold the walk on Thursday, July 4 from 8 to 9:30 a.m.
The walk will begin at the gazebo on the canal off of Main Street. The hike is about 3 miles/1.5 hours. It is $8 for adults and $5 for kids.
Guides will be Richard Lee and Doris Peterman, and they will share the history of the quarries and Lemont. The walk will go from the gazebo to the Heritage Quarries Recreation Area and then back to the gazebo.
