Community Corner
Hope and Friendship Foundation collecting baskets of Easter food.
Seeking donations, by Mon April 15th, of Easter youth baskets and food baskets to meet needs here in our corner of the world.
In just a few weeks on what is known as tax day, I hope to gather on a warm Spring night, to sort and set out for delivery Easter baskets for some young friends here in our community and Easter dinner baskets/bags for homes that could use the gift of supplies to make an Easter dinner.
A generous friend has provided 70 hams (what a blessing I have to see such compassion here in our corner of the world!!) I'm hoping to offer that ham along with some of the sides that would make a very healthy hearty Easter dinner for 70 of our most struggling homes here within our arm's reach: potatoes, veggies, fruit, desserts....all of these can be offered as perishable foods by dropping off to the Lemont Police Dept lobby on Monday April 15th- our sorting day. Or non-perishable form (offering baking products, boxed products to prepare) can be donated to the bin in the Police Dept Lobby anytime up to or on sort night, Monday April 15th 6pm @ Lemont Police Dept.
My goal is offer this much needed gift to 70 homes right here within our arm's reach. You can help by donating, showing up to help sort, and/or offering to deliver the gift of Easter Baskets of food and for the kids of the home.

Last year we met the goal 100% offering just over 100 baskets throughout our community. We had extra once again and enabled us to share with a wonderful church congregation servicing needs in Bolingbrook, making some very in-need youth extremely happy and hoppy! Hoping to spread some ripples of Spring smiles in that direction once again!

* Food bags/baskets filled with food that will accompany a ham and be delivered to a family allowing them to prepare a very healthy and hearty Easter dinner. Deadline: 6pm Monday April 15th
Join us for sorting on that night at the Lemont Police Department. This is our Easter Basket and Spring Cleaning Bag Sorting/Delivering Night- two events, one place, one night, many hands, feet, hearts needed!
* Kid Baskets/Bags- age neutral (up to 18 years old- majority of the kids are grade school age 3-8). Can be boy or girl basket or just kid basket. Fill with socks, snacks, journals/pens, crayons/markers, books/magazines, small games/toys, etc. These do not need to be extravagant at all! The gift of an Easter Basket absolutely thrills the child that will receive it and assists the financially strained household incredibly!!
Please do not hesitate to ask me any questions you may have! This will be the 13th year we have offered this unconditional gift of Easter love, hope and peace. Thank you to our friends of St. Patrick's Church for continuing to rally most of the youth Easter baskets for this outreach for all of the past 13 years!
Thank YOU for continually offering your hands, feet and heart to Hope and Friendship outreaches that simply hope to be a conduit of help from one who can meet a need, to one who is struggling through some very tough times.
Peace my beautiful walking angels,
Terri
