Terri O'Neill Borders, founder of Hope and Friendship Foundation, is adamant about her feelings on the past awarding and soon to be announced current awarding of the Hope and Friendship Scholarships. "One of my most favorite outreaches has been and will remain the awarding of scholarship for further learning and training to assist graduating seniors and those who have graduated and hope to continue schooling/training but are at a financial level that makes it nearly impossible to do so. When someone is afforded the opportunity that comes so easily to others simply because we were able to unite to open that door, then I know our hearts, passion and reach is in the right direction."

This year the Board of Hope and Friendship Foundation will again passionately pour over the entries received and choose the two that reflect best the objectives requested as well as offer their view on the following quote:

In addition to the two scholarships that will be awarded on Lemont High School Senior Night (May 22nd, 2017) to two of our Lemont High School graduating seniors, Hope and Friendship Foundation wishes to assist a person who has previously graduated, an adult, a person who has attempted to step further into learning at the college/community college level or attempting to afford training school to secure their future occupation.
