Still Time to Sign Up for WILL Power Challenge to Support Lemont Teen Battling Cancer
Help lift spirits, inspire strength and encourage determination by participating in the May 22nd WILL Power Challenge at Lemont High School.
We are days away from the most exciting event day that I personally have worked on coordinating. You do NOT have to be competing to be present for this family fun event! Please plan on stopping by just to see a first of it's kind massive outpouring of support and compassion for one of our own.
Too often we hear of a cancer diagnosis and our heart aches, maybe a tear comes to our eye, maybe we hit our knees in prayer for the person launched into the battle, no matter the response you feel something. So often we feel we want to "do something" but often don't know what we could possibly offer.
In my experience, and in my heart, I feel what we can always offer is unconditional support and a never ending offer of presence, sometimes physically, sometimes simply emotionally.

We have a young friend within our reach for whom we can pull within our arms and literally rally a overflowing football stadium full of support for, to help lift his spirits and empower him with this battle that he was thrust into on Feb 24th of this year.
Will Pukula has inspired me with his strength, determination, spirit and courage. With that in mind I hope you will team up with myself and so many family and friends of Will by exercising these qualities within yourself and joining us in The WILL Power Challenge.

On Sunday, May 22 a first of its kind competition will ensue on the campus of Lemont High School: The WILL Power Challenge
Beginning at 1:30 p.m. teams of 6-8 will begin competing in their choice of 12 of the 15 “challenges” ranging from comical to challenging: the bat spin (placing the bat on your forehead and spinning), jump rope, water jug carry, long jump, shot put, a hill sprint, a tire lift and “The BIG Challenge”, to name a few.
When you check in on May 22nd (event day check-in is between 12:30-1:15) you will receive the list of challenges and a map of where they are located.
You and your team will determine who will compete in what event and you will move through the Lemont High School Campus: football field, baseball fields, and over the course of the Lemont High School grounds to complete your 12 events in any order you choose.
You will choose your preferred 12 events from the 15 we have coordinated.
There will be 5 age categories (8-12; 13-15; 16-19; 20-29; 30 yr & older) and one winning team/individual from each age category. All who participate will be winners of course for simply coming out to rally support for a young man, within our arm's reach, who will benefit from our support and compassion!
You can bring a younger person up into your age category but no one from an older age category can compete down.
You can drop off your registration to either the Lemont Police Station or the Village of Lemont front desks by 5pm Friday May 20th.
Event day registration will only be allowed if we have room for more teams/competitors.
WILL Power Challenge Tee shirts will be available on the event day for $20.
Your completed registration includes:
*the registration form completed in full (2 pages)
*a signed waiver (NO ONE can participate without a signed waiver)
*the registration fee (pay by check or cash with the forms or credit via the PayPal at www.hopeandfriendshipfoundation.com. An email confirmation of your payment is immediately sent and will be matched to your registration & waiver.)
You do not have to be competing in The WILL Power Challenge to be present.
There will be concessions, tee shirt sales, lots and lots of raffle prizes, a 50/50 raffle, information/education/organization booths to visit, every person participating would appreciate you showing up to help cheer them on and most importantly we would love for you to be with us on this day to help us show Will some major love and encouragement, offering our presence and support to fuel him through this challenging battle that he is in.
“It takes WILL to battle cancer”.
It takes a union of family, friends and supporters to create an empowering source of hope, love and strength to help one walk through that battle.
