6 Inches Of Snow, Record Cold Temps: IL Winter Weather Advisory
Snow will start early Monday morning and will impact the morning commute.
ILLINOIS — A winter weather advisory has been issued for most of northern Illinois from midnight to 2 p.m. Monday. The advisory is in effect for McHenry, Lake, Kane, DuPage, Cook and Will counties.
The National Weather Service said total snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches are possible. The heaviest accumulations will be over the central and northern parts of the Chicago area. North to northwest winds could also cause some blowing and drifting of snow in open areas.
Untreated roads will become snow covered and the Monday morning commute will be greatly impacted, the weather service said.
