Improvements Begin On Park District Centennial Path
The improvements for the Centennial Path will take 4-6 weeks, depending on weather.
LEMONT, IL — Improvements on Lemont Park District's Centennial Path at the Centennial Campus on 127th Street will begin Sept. 8. According to the park district, the project is a result of the district's "Make Your Park District" initiative from 2019.
During this initiative, residents were able to give feedback to the park district commissioners, and there were similar results given from all residents. The park district collective interests ranged from improving Bambrick Park, walking trails, the possible development of a park in downtown Lemont, and various program opportunities.
The improvements for the Centennial Path will take 4-6 weeks, depending on weather. The park district said the entire path will be repaved, and it will also be widened. There will also be new mile markers and additional signage.
