Industrial Building Damaged, Firefighter Injured In Lemont Fire
It took three hours to bring the fire under control, and crews remained for another hour for overhaul of the building due to damage.
LEMONT, IL — An industrial building was damaged in a fire and a firefighter was injured in Lemont April 1, the Lemont Fire Protection District said. Firefighters responded to a commercial structure fire at 13011 Grant Road at 9:07 a.m. April 1.
The district said when crews arrived, they found a medium-sized industrial building fully involved in fire. It took three hours to bring the fire under control, and crews remained for another hour for overhaul of the building due to the damage to the structure.
Personnel from the Lemont Fire Protection District fought the fire with assistance from 11 surrounding fire departments.

No civilians were injured, but one firefighter injury was reported. The firefighter is OK, the district said.
The Lemont Fire Protection District said everyone should identify a second exit from any commercial building. If a fire alarm sounds, take action and leave the building until firefighters have given the all clear to re-enter.
