Community Corner

It may seem so far from our corner of the world but for at least one it is home and there is need to meet, and we can assist.

Pastor Stephen Meister of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Lemont has roots in Louisiana where his father's church and community are flood victims.

I'm hoping to help one of our very dear friends rally donations for his trip to Louisiana at the end of this week. Pastor Stephen and I have worked side by side for years here in this corner of the world and now he
needs to rally help for his father's church, and for a community that he once called home. His father has pastored St. Amant's Baptist Church for 35 years. They had to be saved from their home as well.

I've attached his list, a letter from him and a flyer.

There are two locations for drop off so that you can assist this community in need. All donations will be delivered to Pastor Stephen Thursday night before he leaves.

Items can be dropped off in the Lobby of Lemont Township (behind Chipains
7am-4pm) or in the lobby of Village of Lemont (8:30am-5pm). Donations
of funds or gift cards can be given to the front desk of Village of
Lemont.

I am encouraging donations of checks (to "Emmanuel Baptist Church") or gift cards. I have personally responded to many tornadoes and items are not as much help as funds and gift cards.

Thank you for keeping these neighbors a few states away in your thoughts, hearts and prayers!

Wishing you peace,
