John Egofske Seeks to be Next Mayor of Lemont
The Lemont businessman is seeking the mayoral office in Lemont.

LEMONT, IL - John Egofske, a Lemont businessman, has announced his bid to become the next mayor of the village.
Egofske is a registered Certified Public Accountant who has served as a Chief Financial Officer and senior level executive for 15 years, according to his campaign biography. He has 26 years of professional corporate experience in legal, negotiations, real estate, accounting, finance, contracting, and information technologies.
“We need to prepare and build our great village of Lemont for the future while preserving our rich historical past," he said in announcing his run in the April 4 Lemont mayoral election. “Lemont is a strong community that has been faced with many challenges that we did not ask for... As mayor, I pledge to have a serious focus on these crucial issues that will help strengthen the future of this great village.”

Egofske, who is also a lector at St. Patrick's Church, will officially kickoff his campaign with a party at Gelsosomo's Pizzeria, 206 Main St. from 6-9 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 16. Complimentary pizza and refreshments will be served. All donations will support the Lemont Food Pantry or a charity of the donor's choice.
Current Mayor Brian Reaves has announced plans that he will not seek re-election in April.
