Kops N Kidz Night Planned In Lemont

LEMONT, IL — The annual Kops N Kidz Night will be held in downtown Lemont on Aug. 7. The event will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and is held in conjuction with National Night Out. The law enforcement vehicle car show is also held the same night from 6 to 9 p.m.

The police department said the Kops N Kidz event is designed to strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships, as well as heighten crime and drug prevention awareness. There will be giveaways, cotton candy, popcorn and raffle prizes at the event.

Law enforcement agencies at the event will also educate the children on safety and expose kids to many law enforcement specialties. To end the evening, the department said the children and their families will be treated to a parade of lights and sirens by the law enforcement vehicles.
