Labor Day Weekend Weather: Pleasant Temps, Chance Of Storms

ILLINOIS — The unofficial end of summer will bring temps in the 70s and a possibility of some rain. The National Weather Service said there is a slight chance of isolated thunderstorms this Labor Day weekend, on Saturday afternoon through Sunday afternoon, but severe weather is not expected.

Temps will be in the 70s on Saturday, with a high of 78 degrees. There is a 30 percent chance of rain and temps will be coolest to the north and warmest to the south.

Sunday will be a little bit warmer with a high of 82 degrees, and the NWS said there is a slight chance of thunder south of I-80.

Some patchy fog will roll into the area on Sunday night and will stick around early Monday morning. Labor Day will have a high of 84 degrees and will be the warmest day of the weekend.
