Lemonster Days: Schedule Of Events

Lemont will have three weeks full of fall activities for all ages.

LEMONT, IL — Lemont is ready for fall festivities with three weeks of planned Halloween and autumnal activities. Lemonster Days is three weeks full of fun, including a beer tasting, a history walk, a movie in the park and a haunted house. There will be no shortage of things to do in Lemont during the month of October.

Here are all the events scheduled for Lemonster Days:

Sixth Annual Autumn Craft Beer Tasting

  • 6:30 to 9 p.m., Oct. 5. Sponsored by Rotary Club of Lemont-Homer Glen at Gelsosomo's Pizzeria & Pub. You will be able to learn more about different seasonal beer styles from award-winning home brewer Scott Pointon. It is $30 per person, ages 21 and over. Proceeds will benefit the Lemont community.

The "Talking" Dead History Walk

  • 6 p.m., Oct. 6. Hosted by the Lemont Area Historial Society at The Old Stone Church. Come hear the stories of an unknown soldier and a gravedigger. You can get to know more about the people who made the community what it is. Adults $15, Kids $10. For more information call (630) 257-2972.

Monster Used Book Sale

  • 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Oct. 7, at the Lemont Public Library. Books for all ages, movies and music; most items will be $1 or less.

Witches Walk

  • 6 p.m., Oct. 7 in Historic Downtown Lemont. Sponsored by the Lemont Chamber of Commerce and the Lemont Park Foundation. Get dressed up and join for a bewitching ladies night out on the second annual Witches Walk in downtown Lemont. After the walk you can invite your favorite Warlock for the Witches Ball at Gelsosomo's. Details and registration information at www.lemontchamber.com or call (630) 257-5997.

Lemont Park District Fall Fest

  • 3 to 6 p.m., Oct. 14 at Lemont Park District Centennial Park. This event will feature entertainment for the whole family including live music by Split Decision, hay rides, scarecrow decorating contest and much more. For more information, call (630) 257-6787 or visit www.lemontparkdistrict.org.

Fright Night Silent Movies

  • 7 p.m., Oct. 20 at Lemont Historical Society Museum, 306 Lemont St. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Two classic Fright Films will be shown, and refreshments will be available. For more information, call (630) 257-2972.

Lemont Park District Movie In The Park

  • 6 p.m., Oct. 24, at Centennial Park. Enjoy a frightful evening outside watching "Monsters University" on the big screen. Bring blankets, lawn chairs and friends to enjoy the movie. For more information call (630) 257-6787 or visit www.lemontparkdistrict.org.

Haunted Central

  • 6 to 9:30 p.m. Oct. 27 (must be in line by 9 p.m.), 1 to 4 p.m. Oct. 28 (for kids), and 6 to 9:30 p.m. Oct. 28 (must be in line by 9 p.m.), at Old Central School, 410 McCarthy Road. Sponsored by the Lemont-Bromberek Combined School District 113A, District 113A Educational Foundation and Hope & Friendship Foundation. Village Of Lemont's Halloween Hoedown

  • 1 to 4 p.m., Oct. 28 in Historic Downtown Lemont. 12:30 p.m. is the line-up at Legion Park. Start at Legion Park for the annual Costume Contest & Parade followed by trick or treating at participating downtown stores and all the miniature houses at Safety Village. There will be a bounce house at Budnik Plaza, haywagon rides, and activities for kids.

Lemont Township's Hooowl-A-Week

  • 1 to 3 p.m., Oct. 29 at Central Bark Dog Park. Costume contest, trick contest, and rescue groups will have pets to adopt. This is a free event, and will include pet product and service vendors, a 50/50 raffle to benefit Lemont Township assisted pet owners with veterinary emergencies and unpayable pet related costs. Trick-Or-Treating

  • 3 to 6:30 p.m., Oct. 31. Trick-or-treat hours for the village. Turn your porch lights on if you welcome trick-or-treaters.

Trick-Or-Treat At The Library

  • 4 to 6 p.m., Oct. 31, at Lemont Public Library. Popular book characters such as Harry Potter, Mother Goose, Little Red Riding Hood and more will be giving away treats.

During the month of October, the Lemont Chamber of Commerce and the Lemont Park District will host its home and business decorating contest. There are two contest categories and great prizes will be awarded to both: "Lemontster, Inc." Business Division and "Lemontster Manor" Residential Division. You must register by Oct. 29 at the Lemont Park District, and your decorations must be up by Oct. 29. Winners will be announced on Halloween.
