Lemont Aldi Holds Grand Reopening, Debuts New Design

The renovations at the Lemont store include additional refrigeration space as well as new product selection.

LEMONT, IL — A grand reopening was held June 6 for the Lemont ALDI store after it was closed for several weeks for remodeling. The store is located at 1237 S. State St., and several local leaders and the Chamber of Commerce attended the ribbon cutting.

According to a release from ALDI, the Lemont store is part of a $1.9 billion initiative from the company to remodel and expand more than 1,300 ALDI stores by the end of 2020.

A ribbon cutting and a Golden Ticket giveaway were held at the reopening event. Shoppers can also enter a sweepstakes for a chance to win a year’s supply of ALDI produce.

The renovations at the Lemont store include additional refrigeration space as well as new product selection, according to a release. As part of the product expansion, ALDI is increasing its fresh food selection with many organic, convenient and easy-to-prepare options. ALDI stores also feature open ceilings, natural lighting and environmentally-friendly building materials.

The store will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday.

“Remodeling and expanding our stores gives us more room for our refreshed product selection,” Heather Moore, Dwight division vice president for ALDI, said in a release. “We know our customers want more fresh and convenient options, and by renovating our stores, we are able to provide new products as well as more of their favorites.”
