Lemont Area Coronavirus Cases Increased By 14 Over Past Week

LEMONT, IL — The number of Lemont's coronavirus cases increased by 14 cases over the past two weeks, according to data from the Illinois Department of Public Health. Lemont (ZIP code 60439) has 133 cases of coronavirus reported as of July 10, compared to 119 cases on July 3, which represents an 11 percent increase over the past week.

State health officials on Friday announced 1,317 new cases of the coronavirus and 25 additional deaths from COVID-19, the respiratory illness caused by the virus. That's the most new cases since June 2 — almost 300 more than Thursday and double last Friday's total.

Here is the growth in the coronavirus case numbers for the past several weeks in Lemont. The data comes from the Illinois Department of Public Health and the number of cases reported in ZIP code 60439.

IDPH is also reporting a total of 2,453 tests have been performed for ZIP code 60439. According to the Cook County Medical Examiner, there have also been six coronavirus related deaths in Lemont since March 16. The deaths included one woman in her 50s, one woman in her 60s, one woman in her 70s, one man in his 60s, one man in his 70s and one woman in her 80s. The most recent death was reported on June 17.

There is no available information regarding the number of patients who have recovered per town.

As of Friday, Illinois' coronavirus case count was 151,767 and the coronavirus has claimed the lives of 7,144 Illinois residents. In suburban Cook County, there are 37,063 cases of the coronavirus and 1,723 related deaths.
