Lemont Awards Eight Business Improvement Grants
The village will provide funding of 50 percent of each grant, not to exceed $5,000, for a total of $43,380.85.
LEMONT, IL — The village of Lemont has awarded eight business district improvement grants to various businesses in Lemont. At the village board meeting on Sept. 23, the board approved awarded grants to Norton Sons Roofing Co., Inc.; Belle Du Jour; Mark Laketa for property at 111 Stephen St.; Wayne's Barbershop; Bonus Electric; JR Owen & Co.; Lemont Honor 22 VFW Post 5819; and Lemont Court Yard Office Condominium Association.
According to board documents, the applications were reviewed by the Historic Preservation Committee, and all were found to meet grant criteria. The village will provide funding of 50 percent of each grant, not to exceed $5,000, for a total of $43,380.85. One business, Norton Sons Roofing Co. Inc., did receive additional funding for the restoration of the 1891 Lemont limestone sign.
"This is another way of investing in our town," Mayor John Egofske said.

The grants will be used for such projects like repairing building exteriors, repairing windows or doors, repairing roofing, landscaping of the properties, ADA improvements, and several others.
