Lemont Extends Vehicle Sticker Ordinance Violation Deadline
Ordinance violation fines for failure to purchase would have been added on Sept. 1, but they have extended that deadline to Sept. 30.
LEMONT, IL — The village of Lemont is extending ordinance violation fines for its vehicle stickers. Those who have not bought a village sticker yet will pay late fees of $50, in addition to the original sticker price of $60. The village said originally ordinance violation fines for failure to purchase would have been added on Sept. 1, but they have extended that deadline to Sept. 30.
With new software, the village can now see which vehicles registered in the village of Lemont have not purchased a sticker. An ordinance violation can be given based on this information, visual enforcement is not needed.
All residents who have vehicles registered with a village of Lemont address are required to purchase a vehicle sticker, regardless of where the car is housed. The village said the stickers were first available for purchase in June for $60. Stickers should have been affixed to the windshield by July 31 to avoid late fees; those who aren't displaying a valid sticker are subject to an ordinance violation.
