Lemont Family Opens Orland Park Indoor Golf Simulation Venue
Lemont residents John and Cindy O'Malley will celebrate the grand opening of their X-Golf franchise this Thursday, November 18th.
X-Golf Orland Park is a new venture by Lemont residents John and Cindy O’Malley, and their longtime friends, Orland Park residents Ed and Marylou Parsons, and Joe and Jessica Andrews. The three local families met at Crystal Tree Country Club and bonded over their love of golf and their communities.
X-Golf Orland Park will host its grand opening this Thursday, November 18th from 2:30-9 pm at its location in the Lake View Plaza at 15876 South La Grange Road, featuring members of the award-winning Lemont High School Marching Band (the O'Malley's twin sons are in the LHS band), an inaugural tee off, golf pro lessons, a closest to the pin contest, refreshments, and visits from local dignitaries. An official ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at 3:30 pm.
The 8,000 square foot facility offers 8 state-of-the-art, indoor golf simulator bays that provide unparalleled accuracy and virtual reality golfing using a combination of cameras, infrared lasers, impact sensors, and advanced gaming software. Featuring traditional country club and mid-century modern décor, along with artwork by LeRoy Neiman, an American artist known for his brilliantly colored expressionist paintings of athletes and sporting events, the space also boasts a bar and lounge with specialty drinks and pub fare.

“X-Golf is the perfect combination of entertainment, sports, and ambiance,” says O’Malley, who has wanted to open his own venue since working as a young man at his uncle’s establishment, O’Malley’s Pub, on the northwest side of Chicago. He adds, “We are so excited to offer this amazing golf technology to novice and avid golfers, families, and groups. Players can enjoy entertainment, engage in serious practice to sharpen their game, and enjoy great food and drinks.” X-Golf Orland Park also plans to host competitions, leagues, lessons, memberships, corporate outings, events, and more.
X-Golf began developing simulators in Korea in 2005, first launching its American franchise operations in 2016. Since then, they have branched nationally to multiple states, including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Wisconsin. The company has successfully opened and maintained 35+ franchisees across the country, with 100 percent growth in the pipeline.
