Lemont Fire Chief Frank Jareczek Retires
Jareczek began his fire service career with Justice in 1988, before he was hired by Lemont in 1992.

LEMONT, IL — After beginning his career in Lemont in 1992, Lemont Protection Fire District Chief Frank Jareczek retired on Tuesday, the district shared in a Facebook post.
Jareczek began his fire service career with Justice in 1988, before he was hired in Lemont in 1992, the District said. He rose through the ranks at the district, and was promoted to Lieutenant in 1994, Battalion Chief in 2016 and Fire Chief in 2019.
According to the fire district, Jareczek was an active member of the honor guard, and also served as the district's safety officer/risk manager and oversaw EMS and fire training. He was also involved in the district's strategic planning and accreditation initiatives.

Jareczek has been succeeded by Daniel Tasso, who was sworn in as Fire Chief earlier this month. Tasso was most recently Deputy Chief of Operations for the Downers Grove Fire Department.
