Lemont Football Advances To Class 6A Semifinal

LEMONT, IL — Lemont High School has advanced into the IHSA Class 6A semifinals after Saturday's victory against Kenwood.

Lemont defeated Chicago's Kenwood 14-0 in the quarterfinals, and will now face off against East St. Louis in the semifinals. The game will be played at 2 p.m. Saturday at Lemont.

Lemont was seeded No. 1 in the playoffs, while East St. Louis is No. 6 seed, according to the IHSA website. Lemont has had an undefeated season, 12-0, and East St. Louis is 10-2.

The other two teams left in the playoffs, Prairie Ridge and St. Ignatius, will also face off in the semifinals.

The Class 6A championship will be held Nov. 26 in Champaign.
