Lemont Football To Face Quincy In Second Round Of Playoffs

LEMONT, IL — Lemont High School football team will advance into the second round of IHSA Class 6A playoffs after Friday's win over Eisenhower.

Lemont defeated the team from Blue Island 55-14.

LHS went undefeated in the regular season and is now 10-0.

Next, Lemont will face Quincy Senior High School at Quincy, a town near the Illinois-Missouri border. The drive is almost 4 and a half hours for fans who are looking to support Lemont at the game.

The game will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday. Lemont was seeded No. 1 in playoffs, and Quincy (8-2) was seeded No. 9, according to the IHSA website.

The winner of Saturday's game will play against the winner of Bremen and Chicago's Kenwood in the quarterfinals.

The Class 6A championship will be held Nov. 26 in Champaign.
