Lemont Freshman Makes First IHSA Girls’ Gymnastics State Finals Appearance
Alana Davey became Lemont's first student since 2017 to reach the IHSA Gymnastics State Finals.

LEMONT, IL — Lemont High School freshman Alana Davey made her state finals debut at the 2026 IHSA Girls’ Gymnastics State Finals, which were contested at Palatine High School on Feb. 20-21, the school shared in a news release. Davey became Lemont’s first student since 2017 to reach the IHSA Gymnastics State Finals.
Davey posted a preliminary round score of 8.8250 in Floor Exercise, which tied for 24th. The top 10 competitors in the prelims advance to the final day of competition, the school said in a release.
Davey (9.2000) placed third in Floor Exercise at the IHSA Oswego Sectional to earn a state finals berth. The top five sectional finishers in each event automatically advance to state finals competition, and the top 12 remaining scorers throughout the state in each individual event and the All-Around advance as at-large state finals qualifiers.

Head coach Jarrod Amolsch’s Hinsdale South/Lemont co-op team advanced to sectional competition by winning the IHSA Hinsdale Central Regional, according to LHS. Davey (9.1750) was the regional champion in Floor Exercise. The team was the West Suburban Conference-Gold Division runner-up this season.
