Lemont Girls Soccer Captures Fourth Place In State

In the third-place game, Lemont lost to St. Francis, 1-0.

LEMONT, IL — Lemont High School girls soccer ended their season with an IHSA Class 2A fourth-place finish.

The last season for Head Coach Rick Prangen, Lemont won its sectional and super-sectional to advance to the state finals tournament.

Lemont defeated Geneva, 3-0, at the IHSA Kankakee Super-Sectional to earn the program’s seventh IHSA Class 2A State Finals berth, and its first since 2018, LHS said.

Lemont faced Crystal Lake Central in the semi-final game, and lost 5-0, according to IHSA. In the third-place game, Lemont lost to St. Francis, 1-0.

According to LHS, Lemont has qualified for the state finals seven times since the IHSA moved to a three-class system in 2009.
