Lemont High School Alumni Association Seeks Nominations for 'Hall of Fame'

Deadline for nominations is Dec. 31.

The Lemont High School Alumni Association is seeking nominations for the school’s Alumni Hall of Fame. The Alumni Hall of Fame is an important part of fostering school and community pride and recognizing the achievements of those individuals who have made Lemont High School an outstanding academic institution.

The Lemont High School Alumni Hall of Fame recognizes graduates who have made significant contributions to society and serve as role models to Lemont High School students. This recognition is the highest honor that can be given by Lemont High School to one of its alumni.

All nominees must be of good character, reflecting the qualities and ideals set forth by Lemont High School. Nominees are eligible for induction to the Lemont High School Alumni Hall of Fame 10 years after their graduation from the school.

Nominees should be graduates who have achieved a high degree of success in their respective professional fields,
but individuals also may be nominated based on an act of bravery or heroism, or recognized for community service. Nominees should serve as role models for current students by consistently demonstrating the highest ethical and moral standards - both as a student and an alumnus.

While alumni are encouraged to nominate their fellow graduates for Alumni Hall of Fame considerations, nominations also can come from current and former teachers and staff, family members, business and civic leaders, and other community members.

Nomination forms are available on the school’s Web site - www.lhs210.net - by clicking on the “Alumni Hall of Fame” banner on the right side of the home page. Nomination forms also may be requested by contacting Director of School & Community Relations Tony Hamilton at either thamilton@lhs210.net or (630) 243-3280. Nominations should be returned no later than December 31, 2015.

The Alumni Hall of Fame is independent from the Lemont High School Athletic Hall of Fame, which has provided an opportunity for the school to recognize alumni, coaches, parents and community members for outstanding athletic accomplishments and extraordinary support since it was established in 2004. If they meet the selection criteria, Athletic Hall of Fame honorees are eligible for inclusion in the Alumni Hall of Fame as well.

As Lemont High School celebrated its 125th Anniversary in 2015, the Lemont High School Alumni Association took advantage of that special occasion to launch its signature project. In March 2015, the Alumni Hall of Fame welcomed its first class of inductees – Joe Forzley ‘45, Patricia (Dalman) Knight ‘64 and Al Meyer ‘67 – at the school’s annual Band Benefit Dinner Dance.

The Lemont High School Alumni Association aims to foster a lifelong connection among alumni and to enhance the bond with their alma mater.
