Lemont High School Announces Illinois State Scholars

LEMONT, IL — A school-record 83 Lemont High School seniors have been tabbed as Illinois State Scholars by the Illinois Student Assistance Commission. According to LHS, more than 20,000 students from across Illinois were honored with this prestigious award this year.

LHS said the 83 honorees easily surpasses the previous school record of 60 students from the Class of 2016.

According to the school, Illinois State Scholars honorees represent approximately the top 10 percent of the state’s high school seniors, representing nearly 750 high schools from across the state. Selection is based on SAT or ACT scores and class rank (if applicable) at the end of the student’s junior year. High school guidance counselors work with ISAC to determine the winners.
