Lemont High School Boys Golf Takes Second In State

The team, coached by Mark Hollatz, had a final score of 626.

LEMONT, IL — The Lemont High School boys golf team finished in second place at the 2023 IHSA Class 2A state tournament.

The team, coached by Mark Hollatz, had a final score of 626, beating out third place Mt. Carmel (628). Springfield's Sacred Heart-Griffin won with a score of 623, according to IHSA.

Top individuals at the state tournament included brothers senior Eddie Scott in eighth and sophomore Joey Scott in ninth place.

LHS said that this is the school's first state trophy in boys golf.

In 2022 and 2021, the team finished in fourth place.
