Lemont High School Football Advances To First Round Of Playoffs

LEMONT, IL — Lemont High School's football team has advanced to the first round of the IHSA Class 6A playoffs, after a 19-18 victory over Thornton Fractional North in the last regular season game Thursday.

Lemont is seeded no. 13, and will go up against no. 4 seed East St. Louis. The game will be played at East St. Louis, at 3 p.m. on Saturday.

Lemont is 5-4, while East St. Louis is 7-2. The East St. Louis team is also the defending state champs for Class 6A.

The winner of the Lemont, East St. Louis match-up will face the winner of Simeon and Normal Community West in the second round of the playoffs.
