Lemont High School Football Players Receive All-State Honors

Senior Albert Kunickis was selected to 1st Team All-State, and Tyler Wilms and Payton Salomon were selected as honorable mention.

LEMONT, IL — Few people understand football players more than their coaches. That's why the honor of being named to the Illinois High School Football Coaches Association All-State Teams is a special one.

Senior Albert Kunickis, who plays as a running back and kicker, was chosen for the 2021 IHSFCA 1st Team All-State for Class 6A.

Junior and quarterback Payton Salomon and senior Tyler Wilms, who plays as a defensive and offensive lineman, were also both named to the Honorable Mention All-State Team.

Lemont made it to the quarterfinals of playoffs this season and were defeated by East St. Louis on Nov. 13. Lemont football is coached by Bret Kooi.
