Lemont High School Releases 2018-19 Calendar

LEMONT, IL — The Lemont High School District 210 Board of Education recently approved the Lemont High School calendar for the 2018-19 school year. The school said the first day of attendance for next school year for freshmen and transfer students will be Wednesday, Aug. 15. The first full day of attendance for all students will be Thursday, Aug. 16. Registration Processing Day will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 7.

Winter Break begins at the end of the day on Friday, Dec. 21, and classes resume following the break on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2019. Spring Break will begin at the end of the day on Friday, March 22, 2019, with classes resuming on Monday, April 1, 2019. The last day of school tentatively is scheduled for Wednesday, May 22, 2019. Graduation is set for Friday, May 24, 2019.

According to the district, here is a calendar of days off, half-days, and early release days:

• Aug. 13-14- Teacher Institute Days
• Aug. 15- First Day of School – Freshmen/transfer students only
• Aug. 16- First Day of School – All students
• Sept. 3- No School – Labor Day
• Sept. 13- School Improvement Day (classes dismiss at 11:15 a.m.)
• Oct. 8- No School – Columbus Day
• Oct. 12- Early Release – 1 p.m.
• Oct. 24- Half Day of School – Student Testing (classes begin at 8 a.m., dismiss at noon)
• Oct. 30- School Improvement Day (classes dismiss at 11:15 a.m.)
• Nov. 21- Early Release – 1 p.m. (classes begin at 8 a.m.)
• Nov. 22-23- No School – Thanksgiving Holiday
• Dec. 21- End of First Semester/Winter Break begins at end of day
• Jan. 7- No School – Teacher Institute Day
• Jan. 8- Classes resume following Winter Break
• Jan. 21- No School – Martin Luther King’s Birthday (observed)
• Feb. 7- School Improvement Day (classes dismiss at 11:15 a.m.)
• Feb. 15- Early Release – 1 p.m.
• Feb. 18- No School – Presidents’ Holiday
• March 5- School Improvement Day (classes dismiss at 11:15 a.m.)
• March 22- Early Release – 1 p.m./Spring Break begins at end of day
• April 1- Classes resume following Spring Break
• TBA Half Day of School – Student Testing (dismissal TBA) - date to be released by ISBE
• April 18- Early Release – 1 p.m.
• April 19- No School
• April 29- No School – Teacher Institute Day
• May 22- Tentative Last Day of School
• May 24- Graduation

The school said if needed, inclement weather days tentatively are scheduled for May 23-24 and May 28-30. To allow for meaningful classroom instruction, days currently designated as holidays or “No School” days may be used instead if deemed necessary by school administrators.
