Lemont High School Softball Wins Second Straight State Championship

Lemont won 1-0 against Antioch in the IHSA Class 3A state championship on Saturday.

LEMONT, IL — Lemont High School's softball team captured its second state championship in a row after defeating Antioch in the Class 3A championship on Saturday.

Lemont won 1-0 against Antioch. Both teams had a record of 34-1 headed into the final game.

The state finals tournament was held at Louisville Slugger Sports Complex in Peoria. Lemont had advanced to the state championship after defeating Benet, 10-0, on Friday in the semifinal game.

Lemont softball also won the state championship in 2022, against St. Ignatius. Last year, the softball program was the fourth LHS athletic program to win a team state championship, joining the baseball, cheerleading and wrestling programs.
