Every level of Hornet Cheer—Superlight (kindergarten–2nd grade), Lightweight (3rd/4th), Junior Varsity (5th/6th) and Varsity (7th/8th)—took home a first place trophy for their cheer performances.

One week prior, Lemont Hornet Cheerleaders took home top billing at the BGYFL Competition on Oct. 27 in both cheer and pom.  Achievements include: Superlight; 1st/cheer with state bid and 1st/pom, Lightweight; 1st/cheer with state bid and Grand Champions title (highest score in their session) as well as 2nd/pom, Junior Varsity; 1st/cheer with state bid and 2nd/pom and Varsity rounded out the day with 2nd/cheer (missing 1st place by .1) and 2nd/pom.

The Varsity team represented Lemont well at the Don't Stop Believin, Bling it On 2 Competition on Oct. 13 and took home a 2nd place finish, narrowly missing first by .4 points.

Varsity cheer will compete again at Final Fling 8 on Nov. 24, for a state bid in order to compete at the Illinois Recreational Cheer Association (IRCA) state competition at the Sears Centre on Dec. 6–8.

Lemont Hornets Cheer has a strong relationship with I FLIP 'N' Dance in Woodridge for discounted tumbling sessions and is a feeder program for OQMS Cheer as well as LHS Cheer.  The organization is fully supported by the programs they feed into and offer a high quality experience for your child. Lemont Hornets (Football) and Cheer is a part of the BGYFL (Bill George Youth Football League) and open to any child interested in participating in the program.   Please see the website at  http://www.lemonthornets.com/ for information on upcoming registration for the 2014 season.
