Lemont HS to Honor 'Hometown Heroes' under Friday Night Lights
Recognition will take place immediately following the sophomore game.

Lemont High School will honor the work of Lemont’s police, fire and rescue units when it hosts “Hometown Heroes” night on Friday, September 11. This annual event, which is in its 12th year, is put on by Interact, a student service activity group associated with the Rotary Club of Lemont-Homer Glen. “Hometown Heroes” will be held in conjunction with Lemont’s South Suburban Conference crossover game against visiting Richards High School.
Members of Lemont’s police, fire and rescue units, as well as their families, have been invited to a reception prior to the game, where they will be provided a meal courtesy of the Lemont High School Blue & Gold Backers. Immediately after the conclusion of the sophomore level game, the “Hometown Heroes” will be recognized. The event is expected to begin between 6:25 to 6:40 p.m.
Lemont, which is coming off an SSC Blue title and an IHSA Class 6A State Runner-Up finish in 2014, is 2-0 this season. Head coach Bret Kooi’s Indians topped visiting Plainfield South by a 21-6 score in their opener on August 28, and outlasted host Danville on the road on Sept. 5, 15-9. Richards is 0-2 this season but is traditionally a power in the
SSC Red.
