Lemont Library Board Approves Severance Agreement With Director
The board has already created a library director search committee to start looking for a new library director.

LEMONT, IL — The Lemont Library board of trustees approved a severance and release agreement with library director Sandra Pointon at its Dec. 12 meeting. Pointon's resignation was effective at the end of the day Dec. 13.
"The library and Sandi have agreed to go in different directions," board president Vytenis Kirvelaitis said.
"Personally, I would like to thank Sandi for all her dedication to our library as illustrated by the successful renovation and expansion that was overseen by her," Kirvelaitis added. "Sandi's efforts have resulted in increased library usage and circulation over her 11 years of service to the Lemont community."

According to the agenda from the Dec. 12 meeting, the employment status of director and approval of employee severance agreement were listed under new business. A reason for Pointon's dismissal was not given.
The board has already created a library director search committee to start looking for a new library director. Trustee Catherine Sanders is the chair of the committee, with Tom Burton Jr. and Patricia Camalliere serving as the other members.
