Lemont Library Incumbents Retain Seats

The closest write-in candidate was 200 votes behind, according to unofficial results.

LEMONT, IL — The Cook County Clerk's Office has shared the unofficial results for the write-in candidates and the four incumbent candidates for the Lemont Library board will all keep their positions. The four incumbents are Vytenis Kirvelaitis, who received 1,131 votes; Thomas Burton Jr., who received 1,259 votes; Catherine Sanders, who received 1,331 votes; and Tom Culcasi, who received 1,277 votes.

Results will be certified by 5 p.m. Tuesday.

The closest write-in candidate was Melissa Fischer, who had a total of 931 votes, putting her 200 votes behind Kirvelaitis, who received the lowest amount of votes out of the incumbent candidates.

The total votes for the incumbent candidates were:

  • Melissa Fischer, 931 votes
  • Patricia Doornbos, 920 votes
  • Renee Miller Pravdik, 875 votes
  • Michael Dunkin, 842 votes

The election was a contentious one, as three of the four-write in candidates unsuccessfully tried to put their names on the ballot, before finding their nominations objected by current board president Kirvelaitis.

As it stands after the April election, the members of the board are Kirvelaitis, Patricia Camalliere, Michaeline Skibinski, Christine Hogan, Sanders, Burton and Culcasi.
