Lemont Library Recognizes Volunteer Team
These volunteers have collectively given 631 hours of service to the library since June 2018.

LEMONT, IL — In celebration of Volunteer Appreciation Week, Lemont Public Library recognized the contributions of the VIP Volunteer Team with a Volunteer Appreciation Tea and ceremony on April 11. The library said 12 of the library’s 15 volunteers were in attendance along with several library trustees and staff who work with the volunteers.
These volunteers have collectively given 631 hours of service to the library since June 2018. They have worked on a variety of projects including inventory, collection maintenance, assisting with adult and children’s programs, online book sales and more, according to the library.
The library said Chris May was honored with a service pin and certificate of recognition as the first volunteer to reach the milestone of 100 hours of volunteer service. In her acceptance speech, May said that she values the opportunity to interact with library staff, fellow volunteers who have become friends, and Lemont’s kids and families.
