Lemont Man Sent Students Inappropriate Messages: Cops

The man works for Single Path, a company contracted to work with LHS.

LEMONT, IL — A man employed by an outside technology company and contracted to work at Lemont High School was arrested after several students reporting he had sent them inappropriate pictures, police said. Alejandro Martinez, 27, of the 16400 block of Harvest Lane, has been charged with possession child pornography and three counts of distributing harmful material.

Martinez is an employee of Single Path, a company LHS works with. The school said Martinez would primarily work at the technology help desk and he provided educational technology support services to faculty, staff and students who visited the help desk.

According to an email sent to parents from LHS, Martinez was subject to a background check prior to beginning work on campus.

Police said Martinez sent students pictures through social media. After they arrested him, it was found he had numerous pictures and video files containing child pornography in his possession. The pictures do not appear to include any LHS students.

In the email from LHS, administrators said Martinez no longer works at LHS.

Martinez was processed and transported to the Cook County Courthouse in Bridgeview on Nov. 11. Police said the investigation continues, and further charges are pending.
