Lemont Man Spits In Police Officer's Face: Lisle PD

The officer was later treated at Edward Hospital in Naperville and released to duty.

LEMONT, IL — A Lemont man was arrested Feb. 9 after spitting in the face of a police officer in Lisle. Thomas Navickas, 25, of the 600 block of McCarthy Street, was charged with DUI, aggravated battery to a peace officer, aggravated assault to a peace officer, resisting a peace officer, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, speeding and improper lane use.

Lisle Police said the officer conducted a traffic stop at 1:25 a.m. Feb. 9 on Navickas' vehicle for having only one headlight, improper lane use and speeding violations. Navickas showed signs of impairment and was told he was being placed under arrest for DUI.

Police said after a physical struggle with officers, Navickas was handcuffed and led to a police transport car. While being escorted to the car, Navickas spit in the face of a Lisle Police officer, causing irritation in her eye. The officer was later treated at Edward Hospital in Naperville and released to duty.

Navickas was transported to DuPage County Jail to attend a bond hearing.
