Village of Lemont Selects New Police Chief

After an extensive and comprehensive search for its Police Chief position, the Village of Lemont has selected Marc Maton to be Lemont’s next Chief of Police. Mr. Maton brings 28 years of experience in various levels of responsibility from the Illinois State Police, most recently as the Deputy Director of the Administration Division with the Illinois State Police. He will be joining the Village of Lemont on January 5, 2015.

Chief Kevin Shaughnessy will retire on January 2, 2015 after 11 years of service as Lemont’s Police Chief along with his extensive experience previously with the Illinois State Police. Chief Shaughnessy and Maton are committed together to make the transition smooth for the Lemont Police Department and the community.
