Lemont Open Food Pantries In Need Of Donations
Food donations can be dropped off at several locations around Lemont.
LEMONT, IL — The Lemont Open Food Pantries are in need of donations and currently have a low stock for those in need. The pantries are at Bethany Lutheran Church, 500 Lemont St., and Lemont United Methodist Church, 25 W. Custer.
According to the Bethany Lutheran Church website, there are certain items the pantry is in regular need of including: cereal, peanut butter, jelly, tuna, canned chicken, canned ham, spam, rice, instant potatoes, hamburger helper, tuna helper, canned mixed vegetables, canned fruit, salad dressing, ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, juice, tea bags, canned chili, spaghetti-o's, sugar, flour, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, bar soap, toothpaste and paper towels. The pantry also needs no-salt and gluten-free items.
The pantry does not need canned green beans, canned peas, tomato soup, macaroni and cheese and ramen.

There are several ways to donate items to the pantries. Donations can be dropped off at Lemont Township, 1115 Warner Ave., Lemont Library, 50 E. Wend St. (after Nov. 16), Lemont Park District CORE, 16028 W. 127th St., Heritage Corridor Business Alliance, 416 Main St., Lemont Police Department, 14600 127th St., and the Lemont Starbucks, 1251 State St. You can also bring the items directly to the pantries Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday between 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
