Lemont Park District Board Commissioner Resigns
The park district board is now looking for another member to fill a one-year appointment until April 2019.

LEMONT, IL — Lemont Park District Board Vice President John Diorio has resigned from the board. According to the park district, Diorio was elected to the board in April 2009. In 2015, he was elected for another term and has played an active role on the board.
However, the park district said Diorio will no longer be able to fill the role of commissioner due to other obligations.
“The Lemont Park District Staff would like to extend much gratitude to Commissioner Diorio for his hard work, interest, and genuine care for the community of Lemont and we wish him all the best,” Executive Director Louise Egofske said in a release.

“We are grateful to Commissioner Diorio for all his hard work and dedication to the Lemont Park Districtand he will truly be missed,” Board President Brian Pepich said in a release. “Looking ahead we are pleased that another Lemont resident will have the opportunity to serve as a member on the Lemont Park District Board of Commissioners. It is truly a very rewarding experience to see when a positive difference is made and embraced by the community.”
The park district board is now looking for another member to fill a one-year appointment until April 2019. At that time, this position is subject to an election in which interested parties may run for the remaining unexpired two-year term.

According to the park district, the purpose of a Board Member is to develop policies; devise long-range plans, procedures and regulations for operations of the agency; monitor finances; and serve as a voting member. All Board Members are expected to attend monthly meetings, participate on various committees, attend standing committee meetings if a member, attend board retreats and in-service workshops and attend and participate in special events. Applicants for this position must submit their resume, two references and a letter of interest to Lemont Park District Board President, Brian Pepich, at Brian-Pepich@lemontparkdistrict.org by 5 p.m. April 13.
