Lemont Police Nab 3 Suspects in Car Burglaries

Felony charges were approved by the Cook County State's Attorney's Office.

Lemont police have charged three suspects in a string of recent car burglaries in the area.

Officers Oct. 10 responding to a report of a suspicious person in the 1000 block of Hillview Drive found Zachary Stronach. Questioning uncovered that Stronach, 21, of the 600 block of Kruk Street, was involved in the theft of a motor vehicle from the 400 block of Keepataw and several other car burglaries in the area.

Investigators also located and arrested Germantas Valionis, 21, of the 17W. 200 block of Scheel St. in Willowbrook and an additional male juvenile who lives in Darien, for their involvement in the theft and burglaries.

The investigation revealed that Stronach and Valionis have been involved in multiple car burglaries dating back to early July. Proceeds were recovered from the offenders and several felony charges were granted by the Cook County State’s Attorney’s office.
