Lemont Police Officers Raise Over $4K For Special Olympics

LEMONT, IL — Lemont Police officers raised $4,400 during this year's "Cop on the Top" event, according to a letter from Chief of Police Marc Maton. This year's event took place at Lemont's two Dunkin' Donuts, as well as over 274 locations across Illinois.

"I was overwhelmed by the generosity of so many. I would like to thank everyone who donated to this worthy cause," Maton said in his letter. "Each and every donation helped the Police Department meet our goal. You are proof that together we can make a difference. I would also like to thank the police officers, staff and volunteers for assisting with this event."

Maton thanked Mayor John Egofske, and the Lemont Village Trustees, the Citizen's Police Academy Alumni Association, Lemont Public Works, Terri O'Neil from Hope & Friendship and Dunkin Donuts.
