Lemont Reintroduces Business Improvement Grants

LEMONT, IL — The village of Lemont is reintroducing business improvement grants, which will be available to all commericial districts in the village. According to the village newsletter, the grant program is designed to encourage exterior and site improvements that enhance the character of Lemont.

Grants are awarded on a competitive basis and issued in the form of reimbursements after eligible expenses are incurred. The village said a committee will review applications and make recommendations to the board on the awarding of grants.

Applications for the current cycle are due Aug. 31. Eligible projects for the grant include the repair or rehabilitation of building exterior, installation of enclosures for trash or recycling, repair or replacement of roofing, landscaping of the site, improvements that address accessibility and several other options.
