Lemont Resident Receives Veterans Illinois Bicentennial Award

Lemont Township board member Frank Wozniak has been selected to receive the Veterans Illinois Bicentennial Honor 200 Award.

LEMONT, IL — Lemont Township board member Frank Wozniak has been selected to receive the Veterans Illinois Bicentennial Honor 200 Award. According to the township, Wozniak has served on the board for the past 38 years.

"Frank is always willing to step up to lend a hand whenever asked," the township said. "He is a world of knowledge and his contribution to our board and the community continue to be invaluable."

Award nominations were evaluated on the achievements and contributions made by each nominee that have aided local communities, according to the Department of Veterans' Affairs.

Wozniak will be honored Dec. 3 at the United Center, along with the other 199 veterans chosen from around Illinois. He will also be honored here in Lemont at the annual Veterans Day ceremony on Monday, Nov. 12. A recognition is planned for him at the Lemont VFW Post 5819 at 12 p.m.
